Schoharie Promotional Association

Adopt a Highway
Intersection of Routes 30 and 443
Robin Myers, Chairperson

Spring Pickup Date:  April 22, 2017
Fall Pickup Date:  To be announced

In September of 1991, Schoharie Promotional, under the direction of Dick Young, applied to the Department of Transportation to “Adopt-a-Highway”.  Twice a year, Route 30 from the Little League field to the Carrot Barn, and Route 443 from the intersection to beyond the Tory Tavern, gets a thorough cleaning.  Coordinated with the NYS Department of Transportation, who provides the bags, reflective vests, signs, and pickup of the bagged trash, the pickup generally takes about an hour on a Saturday morning, depending on the number of volunteers.

April 22, 2017 Spring Cleanup

Thank you Spring cleanup people:  Dawn and Peter Johnson, Shirley Lawyer, Karen Miller, Darlene Patterson, Robin Myers, and pick-up guys, Chuck Alescio and John Gulstad.  Lots of litter on Earth Day.

We could avoid much of this if people would use litterbags!  Keep our roads beautiful.
