Events and Sponsorships

Annual Community Meeting

  •  Each January a meeting is held in Town Hall to share information with the community.  Other organizations are encouraged to participate.

Ice Skating in Fox Creek Park (weather permitting)

  •  Thanks to Floyd Guernsey, and weather permitting, an ice rink is created during the winter for skaters to enjoy.  Ice skates are available to borrow.  A large rink with hockey nets is available for hockey players.

Fund Drive (February and March)

  • Your donations support the many events and projects sponsored by the association  for over 40 years.

Lily Park

  • Efforts continue yearly keeping the park maintained.  We appreciate any and all help with our efforts.

See the Lily Park tab for additional information.

Adopt a Highway

  • In conjunction with the Transportation Department's  Adopt a Highway Program, the Promotional Association picks up trash along Route 443 and Route 30.  Safety vests, hard hats, bags and grabbers are provided. Volunteers are always needed (bring gloves and wear waterproof footwear).

Barrel Planting on Main Street

With donated flowers from Schoharie Valley Farms, garden soil by Oak Hill Landscaping,  barrels are planted each May to beautify Main Street.

Lily Festival

The Annual Lily Festival is held on the second Saturday of July.  Although lilies bloom at different times throughout the summer, we chose this date to highlight the Tiger Lily in bloom. Like Albany’s Tulip Festival and Rochester’s Lilac Festival, our goal is to grow Schoharie’s Lily Festival each year as we celebrate the beauty of the Lily Park and the Schoharie Valley. With crafters, vendors, food, music, games, and all other things associated with festivals, visitors are invited to enjoy a day in the park.

Band Concerts

  • The Friday Night summer concerts tradition continues in the Schoharie County Courtyard.  Nice summertime fun.

Lights in the Park

  •  Preparation for Lights in the Park begins in October when trees in Fox Creek Park are wrapped in colorful lights.  The pavilion is also decorated with lights and other decorations are placed in the park.  The lighting of the park for the holiday season is held the Friday after Thanksgiving and continues until Twelfth Night.
  • Schoharie Promotional also sponsors the decorations on Main Street and in the Lily Park..
