Annual Community Meeting

  • Each January a meeting is held in Town Hall to share information with the community.  Other organizations are encouraged to participate.

Ice Skating in Fox Creek Park

  • Thanks to Floyd Guernsey, and weather permitting, an ice rink is created during the winter for skaters to enjoy.  Ice skates are available to borrow.  A large rink with hockey nets is available for hockey players.

Easter Egg Hunt in the Lily Park

  • Parking for the hunt is at Fox Creek Park.  Each child will receive a basket to collect eggs (PLEASE NO PLASTIC BAGS).  At noon the Easter Bunny will lead the children to the Lily Park and to find the eggs.  After the hunt, get your picture with the Easter Bunny.  Enjoy the day in the park and  make sure to visit the Egg Museum.

Adopt a Highway

  • Spring pickup is Saturday, April 27th, at 10 am.  Park at the  Route 443 Park and Ride and sign in.  Safety vests, hard hats, bags and grabbers are provided.  Bring gloves and wear waterproof footwear. 
  • Fall pickup date is September 28th

BBQ Fund Raiser at Scary Leg Runners Race

  

  • Chicken BBQ fund raiser at the Scary Leg Runners race in the county parking lot in the Village of Schoharie by BBQ Delights.   Additional information will be posted soon.

Flower Barrels on Main Street

  • On May 17th at 10 am the flower barrels will be planted on Main Street.  We thank Schoharie Valley Farms for donating the flowers for the barrels and Oak Hill Landscaping for donating the potting soil.

Concerts in the Courtyard

  • Friday night tradition continue with  four concerts planned this summer, in the courtyard, 7 to 9 pm.   
  • July 19th -- Moonshine Junkies
  • July 26th -- Climb to Glory 
  • August 2nd -- 5 Zero
  • August 9th --  Tommy Lynn (Neil Diamond tribute artist)

Lights in the Park

Preparation for Lights in the Park begins in October when trees in Fox Creek Park are wrapped in colorful lights.  The pavilion is also decorated with lights and other decorations are placed in the park.  The lighting of the park for the holiday season is scheduled for Saturday, November 29th, along with a community party in the park.  

  • Schoharie Promotional also sponsors the decorations on Main Street and in the Lily Park.

  • Schoharie Promotional has contributed many items to beautify the Village of Schoharie including the village clock, benches, trash can covers, the map kiosk at 300 Main Street, banners, Christmas decorations, the millennium tree to name a few. 

Schoharie Central Scholarships

  • Two scholarships are given annually to two students who exhibit volunteerism and/or community service.  Selection process is by the school.
